R no more

Walking along Beach Street recently I thought I'd drop into the R-Bar. However it seems that the R is no more.

While the outside is virtually unchanged, the inside is now a tranquil Japanese restaurant by the name of Nami. I didn't try the food, opting instead for some Sapporo Japanese beer, which is relatively rare in Melbourne now that Asahi is being served in so many pubs and bars.

It seems strange to me that there are few places to drink on the sea front. Once upon a time there were seven pubs lined up between the London Hotel and The Pier.
