Dollar dazzler

Apparently the new, yet somehow already tired looking, ATM in our local Coles is part of a preliminary foray by the supermarket chain into financial services. The one dollar transaction fee is less than half what banks normally charge to customers of other institutions, although that isn't much consolation for the Port Melbourne NAB customers who used to get their cash out here.
The irony is that it was, and still is, easy to not even pay the dollar fee by getting cash out by EFTPOS at the tills (even without a purchase). Or you could get an account with someone like ING Direct who rebate the fees from any ATM in Australia.
