The London

At the Beacon Cove end of town, The London is a charming looking whitewashed art-deco pub overlooking the beach. So it comes as a bit of a shock when you discover what it's like inside.
There is little or no evidence of the original pub inside, instead you get an ill-conceived renovation with a way too bright, open-plan area that is part 80's cafeteria and part daggy night club.
All of which can no doubt be overlooked on a sunny day at least because the location is superb, with lots of outdoor seating, and the bar staff are friendly too.

Beers on tap: Carlton, Boags, Coopers, Hahn, Carlsberg
Wine range: $6-$8 a glass
Parma: $20 (not tested)
Gastro: No
Tradie vs Yuppy: Slightly toward Tradie; you might feel uncomfortable in a suit

  1. The London has recently undergone renovations & is now under new management. Expect to see lots of chandeliers & a refined menu, perfect for business lunches or an intimate dining experience.
